Discovering Kimberly Brock: A Journey into Podcasting
I just had the most amazing chat with the fabulous Kimberly Brock! EEK! Kimberly hosts a top 1% podcast, and that’s how I found her. If you're in the coaching or online business world, you know how crucial it is to have the right guidance and support. Kimberly provided exactly that for me.
From Coaching Certificates to Business Realities
After working my ass off to complete my coaching certificates and feel confident enough to coach clients, I realized I knew nothing about building an online business. Sure, I had a small boutique shop selling handmade clothes, but I never really handled the books properly. Honestly, the customers just kinda came to me. It was easy because people wanted what I was making, and it was fantastic! But when I transitioned into coaching, I faced a whole new set of challenges. What's a marketing campaign? How do I do bulk emails? What on earth is a lead gen?!
Pandemic Pivot: Finding a New Path
But when that ended in 2020 along with the pandemic, I had to figure out something else. Apparently, people didn’t want to spend $50 on a custom-made outfit for their kid to go to Disney when Disney wasn’t even open! Go figure, right?
Back to School and a New Direction
That’s when I decided to go back to school in 2021 and eventually became certified as a Relationship Coach. I quickly realized I had no idea how to run a marketing campaign or what on earth a lead magnet even was. All I knew was that I really wanted a podcast. I wanted to help people and use it as a form of marketing so they could hear how I coached and decide if they’d like to hire me.
Enter Kimberly: The Podcast Guru
But news alert... I had NO IDEA how to start a podcast. Enter Kimberly. I met her in May of 2023 when another coach friend told me I had to listen to “She’s Just Getting Started”. So, I downloaded it on Apple and started devouring it. Her energy, enthusiasm, and knowledge were everything I was looking for! And it felt like divine fate that she was starting a Podcast Boot Camp. At first, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to sign up as I was getting married in just three months and thought, "Jenn, you can’t put more on your plate." But she mentioned this was a Beta program with lifetime access and the ability to join any future bootcamps.
Taking the Plunge: Joining the Bootcamp
I thought it was the perfect opportunity to get my feet wet without diving in if it was too much. And turns out, it absolutely was too much, but wow, what an amazing opportunity it was to meet some incredible women. Up until that time, I had just been inundated with other coaches—people who wanted to be coaches in relationships and attachment styles, just like I was doing. Naturally, I felt like this market was oversaturated, and I questioned what I was bringing to the table. What was I doing? Why was I even going down this road? Was I an idiot for diving into all this?
Finding My Community
But no, once I got into the Binge Worthy Bootcamp and started meeting Cheese Connoisseurs, Daisy’s with green thumbs, and Theme Park enthusiasts! I knew I was with the right crew! All these women are still good friends to this day. That’s the kind of community Kimberly creates. That’s why I knew when she opened up more spots for her Grow Getters program, I wanted to join. I joined mainly for the community, but also because Kimberly is a wealth of knowledge.
A Dream Realized: Talking on Kimberly's Podcast
Talking on her podcast has been a dream of mine since I first listened to it way back in April of 2023. I thought, "Wow, what an amazing opportunity that would be!" When she offered us all a spot on her podcast during the bootcamp, I knew that was going to be me. But I kept putting it off, thinking I wasn’t ready. My TEDx Talk link wasn’t out yet, I hadn’t even set up my Relationship Reboot course yet. I kept thinking I had to wait. So I kinda just avoided Kimberly, to be honest, haha. But she, being the amazing business coach that she is, reached out to me and told me it’s time.
